| Description | The article presents the problems of defining the post-industrial landscapes (PILs), set of their indicators, the process of their mapping and classification in two regions of East Bohemia in the Czech Republic. The origin and development of post-industrial landscapes in both regions is set in the context of the history of industrialization of this area in the 19th and 20th centuries. The available data sources on post-industrial landscapes in the Czech Republic are reviewed. One- to four-word-names were applied to describe individual PIL types. The geographic location of PILs was compared with the territorial distribution of natural landscapes. The evaluation of the results includes a critical view of the disputed sites of the data processing and the mapping process. In conclusion, further stages of follow-up research are outlined, especially with regard to the historical value of PILs and the possibilities of their further development. |
