| Description | Assessing regional innovation performance is an important part of exploring regional innovation systems and regional economies. The innovativeness of nation-states and regions is examined through various indicators and surveys. One of the most respected is the European Innovation Scoreboard and Regional Innovation Scoreboard drawn up by the European Commission. This article aims to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the Regional Innovation Scoreboard and to critically discuss and analyse the method of creation the scoreboard and the selection of individual indicators. Research methods used in the article are research of scientific literature and its synthesis. Given the quality and availability of data, we argue that the publishing cycle should be further extended and that the regional innovation scoreboard should be completed by qualitative analysis. |
