Description | In this chapter, its authors reflect on how the processes of individualization interfere with the institution of marriage in both countries over time. They investigate the position of marriage as the actual target values of social actors, the normative expectations associated with the behavior of others, and the strength and weakening of sanctions and stigmas represented by the negative attitudes towards behavior outside the institutional framework. The chapter has an extensive theoretical part, as it presents the starting points and various concepts of the concept of deinstitutionalization and at the same time draws its own connection between the theoretically defined dimensions of deinstitutionalization and empirical indicators of attitudes towards family life offered by EVS. |
