Description Alzheimer’s disease (AD) represents the most common cause of dementia. According to amyloid cascade hypothesis, pathogenesis of the disease could be slowed down or even stopped by inhibition of beta-secretase (BACE). Capillary electrophoretic (CE) methods are regarded as a promising tool for enzyme assays. A CE method with fluorescence detection for screening of potential BACE inhibitors was therefore introduced.
