Description | This talk was about how to account for the phenomenon of concord, more specifically, how does concord relate to ordering of morphemes inside a nominal phrase. I showed that Bayirli's (2017) Universality of Concord theory is insufficient in this aspect, since it cannot capture the differences between languages that differ with respect to the aforementioned ordering. I then presented a sketch of an account based on Cinque's (2005) method that could possibly yield the desired results. |
