| Description | This text is a case study focused on Swedish metal band Ghost, which mainly in the USA excites controversies even today, although it could seems that this kind of concern is rather part of a previous century. Actually there is no wonder. Frontman´s character represents the anti-pope who is accompanied by Nameless Ghouls and sings for Satan´s glory. A lot of rumours and legends goes around the band, partly spread by fans, partly by the band itself. There is also a whole mythology created by the band which they present during the shows, interviews and via their official sites. Currently they experience a great success and one of the most interesting things about them is what a huge and independent fanbase the band formed. In this study I will focus in detail on the way of how the band use Satanism on the outside – in the work and image, and at the same time how the band perceive it on the inside – their own perspective and possible spiritual layer. |
