Description New diagnostic criteria for common variable immunodeficiency diseases (CVID) were published in 2016. The criteria include the decrease of serum IgG level and at least one other isotype (IgA or IgM), impaired response after vaccination with at least one type of antigen (T-dependent or T-independent) and the exclusion of other causes of hypogammaglobulinemia. The patient should present clinical symptoms of immunodeficiency, autoimmunity or benign lymfoproliferation, however, for persons with positive family history the clinical presentation is not necessary. It is supposed that knowledge of the diagnostic criteria of CVID may improve the awareness of the disease, which is frequently misdiagnosed in the Czech Republic.
