Description | This chapter contributes to the debate about the transformation and the recent modes of local public service provision in two selected new EU member states: the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These two countries have a long common history which invites their comparative analysis. The chapter focus is 1948 to 2015, including two main periods: the socialist era from 1948 to 1989 and the transformation of the municipal service system after 1989. |
