Description The paper is focused on electrochemical investigation of DNA heptamers d(GCXXXGC) with different central triplet (XXX = GAA, AAA, CCC). To evaluate the effect of hydrogen evolution on redox processes of these heptamers on a hanging mercury drop electrode, the AC reduction and G oxidation vcoltammetric peaks were measured at three pH and at different vertex potentials (from -1.60 V to -1.85 V). The double-peak G oxidation signals (GI and GII) reflect not only the structures of heptamers but also the impact of hydrogen evolution process into the production of 7,8 - dihydogenguanine moieties forming together with hydrogen in negative potentials.
