Description Language learning strategies belong among contemporary didactic-educational topics. Vlčková defines them as sets of steps taken by learners to make information acquisition, remembering, recollection and usage in foreign language learning process easier. Research in language learning strategies has so far focused on majority population. Knowledge about language learning strategies in special education is insufficient, in Czech environment almost non-existent. This paper will explain the potential of language learning strategies and will introduce current research into language learning strategies in blind university students in the Czech Republic.
