Description | It is hypothesized that proper assessment of the quality of an embryo and the following selection of the embryo with the highest developmental potential is fundamental task ensuring high success rates of an in vitro fertilization cycle. Contemporary techniques employed for the embryo quality assessment are lacking certain objectivity thus novel method based on capillary electrophoresis was developed. The developed method is focused on analysis of pyruvate and lactate – important compounds of energy metabolism of the developing embryo. Method utilization for determination of pyruvate and lactate in the culture media collected prior and after the embryo cultivation is presented. |
