Description The article deals with implementation of innovation policy through regional innovation strategies. Regional innovation strategy is a medium-term document encompassing balanced policy tool mix that uses strategic capabilities and learning and that support linkages among regional actors. In the Czech Republic all regions except of the Central Bohemia Region have approved their innovation strategies. However, the quality of documents and related implementation degree differ significantly. While some regions accepted the strategy only by a formally way, other ones put them into practice through realization of actions plans. Especially the South Moravian, but also the Moravian-Silesian and the Zlin Regions are the leaders in this field.
