Description Metalloproteins account for nearly a half of all proteins in the nature; the metal-binding sites are often responsible for catalysis in important biological processes. Recently, we introduced the off-line coupling of capillary electrophoresis (CE) to both matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry (MS) and substrate-assisted laser desorption inductively coupled plasma (SALD ICP) MS. Here we demonstrate the coupling of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to three complementary detection systems, MALDI MS, electrospray ionization (ESI) MS and SALD ICP MS.
