| Description | Increasing trend of individual mobility via air space and its impacts in society has led to a formulation of a new concept in social sciences followed by research of phenomenon called aeromobility. The aim of this paper is to briefly discuss up-to-now theoretical embedding of the concept from geographical point of view and to find the fundamental attributes pointing out what part of society can be specified as aeromobile. In addition to the existing approaches being based on aeromobility potential or/and the frequent actual movement of individuals via air space we argue that the essential defining element of an aeromobile population is the aspect of its choice and its identity as aeromobile. We therefore also focus on causes of mobile lifestyles and identities to be found within them. Moreover the mobilities approach, studying movement in its wide context and on individual level, is presented here as a new perspective way of research in transport geography stressing the need for behavioral and qualitative turn in the mostly structure-oriented transport research tradition in Central Europe. |
