Description In this article we explain the role of educational and training programmes that represents both the key labour market policy measure (increasing labour force employability) and the lifelong learning policy tool (contributing to the lifelong learning concept). On base of the exploration of wide pallet of available literature, statistics and research studies we describe key types of educational and training programmes and their goals realised in different world countries. At the same time we reflect the role of these programmes in economic and social conditions of contemporary labour markets and their link to principles of flexicurity policy.
