Description The principle of territoriality is the leading principle of intellectual property rights in relations with international element. It is reflected both in the stage of determining the jurisdiction and in the stage of determining the law applicable. This paper assesses, how well the Czech legislator did took that principle into his consideration while creating the new Czech Act on private international law, which deals with intellectual property rights – unlike its predecessor. This paper also assesses, whether the Czech legislator was somehow influenced by relevant European Union regulations while crating the new above mentioned Act.
