Description This article explains the effect of the private law recodification on payment services and on the concluding of payment services contracts. New legal regulation in the Civil Code, Act No. 89/2012 Sb., will be effective as of January 1st 2014. The second goal of the article is to identify the regulatory limits set by the transposed acts of the European Union law and to find out how this legislative amendment changes the banking practice in contract concluding and the archiving of the documents on the provided payment services.
