| Description | The influence of suburbanisation processes and migration of city inhabitants into originally rural hinterland have caused the formation of specific patterns of social environment in suburban localities. The clash of two population groups with different demographic, education and social-economic structure, as well as with markedly distinct life style draws many new negative and positive phenomena and definitely transforms the life of local community. The results of empiracal research in the community are being presented in this contribution. The research has been concentrated on how and to what extent is the social climate being affected and transformed by the inflow of new allochthonous inhabitants into the Prešov suburban locality – Kanaš. We have particularly focused on the question concerning the existence and intensity of social contacts between original and new inhabitants, comparison of social characteristics and life style of both groups, as well as the degree of integration of new residents into the local society or their separation or isolation. |
