| Description | The paper deals with the demographic development in rural areas of the South Moravian Region. The introductory part presents an overview of the departure points for our research. It is followed by the results of a study of development trends in selected demographic characteristics at the municipal level, concerning the period 1991–2011. Based on this study, the regional differentiation of demographic development in rural areas of the South Moravian Region is established. Interesting results have been obtained especially as regards the classification of rural settlements according to the intensity of commuting to work. |
