Description In general, the determination of apparent protonation constants of organic electroactive substances from polarographic and voltammetric data is based on the dependence of peak potential (Ep) on pH. Then the pKa value is given as an intersection of two lines characterizing a different shift Ep of protonated and unprotonated particles on pH. Due to the fact that both slopes of these lines usually are not very different, the exact assessment of the intersection is problematic. Our new proposed method, which is able to determine pKa values from the Rp (peak resistance) depending on pH, eliminates this drawback.
