Description | Cyst resection and fenestration from open craniotomy, cystoperitoneal shunt implantation and neuroendoscopic cyst fenestration are treatment possibilities available for arachnoid cysts. Minimally invasive nature of neuroendoscopic cyst fenestration under direct vision with no need for foreign material implantation favours the use of neuroendoscopy. Minimal invasiveness of neuroendoscopy is further potentiated by stereotactic frame or neuronavigation systems. The aim of the paper is to present the experience with neuroendoscopic treatment of children with arachnoid cysts. |
