| Description | This article addresses the symbolism of jewellery associated with love, engagement and the wedding ceremony. Rings frequently served such amorous purposes, as well as clasps, belts, wedding medals an the like. Motifs include, apart from the traditional heart, joined hands, love knots, love inscriptions, and far more. Examples derived from all over Europe, with emphasis on those from the Czech and Moravian area. |
