The National Bureau of Economic Research is a private independent organisation with an economics perspective. Main topics of research are estimating quantitative models of economic behavior, assessing the effects of public policies, and projecting the effects of alternative policy proposals. Hundreds of NBER Working Papers are published each year, and many subsequently appear in scholarly journals.

Custom-made education: New course helps nutrition consultants’ smart business

ECON MUNI experts can adapt the content and form to different professional groups. The new course Profesionál v nutričním podnikání (Professional in Nutrition Business), which was developed in collaboration with Welko Team s.r.o, is one example of this. The aim of the course is to provide nutrition advisors with a broader understanding of the economy and the opportunity to expand their business. Dr. Alena Šafrová Drášilová from the Department of Business Management talks about, among other things, how to customize education.

"We would like to involve students more in the functioning of the Academic Senate," says its new chair, Petra Dvořáková

Dr. Petra Dvořáková took over the leadership of the Academic Senate of ECON MUNI this year after her predecessor, Dagmar Vágnerová Linnertová, became the Head of the Department of Finance. Although she has only been in office for a short time and will have to defend her position in new elections this autumn, she already has ideas on how the Senate's activities could further develop.

Dean Jiří Špalek, on behalf of ECON MUNI, signed a cooperation agreement on challenges in Czech healthcare

The World Health Organization (WHO) in the Czech Republic and leading academic institutions, including the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Masaryk University, signed a cooperation agreement on March 11, 2025. The goal is to address urgent challenges in Czech public healthcare and strengthen collaboration in modernizing the healthcare system and education.
