Michal Jirásek: Organizing in the world of AI and algorithms

Public lecture within the habilitation procedure of Michal Jirásek in the field of Business Management.

The lecture explores the evolving nature of organizing, meaning the processes and structures enabling individuals and groups to coordinate actions toward shared goals. It examines two recent themes: i) changes in organizing with the rise of algorithms and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and ii) the transition from purely human-driven structures to hybrid models incorporating algorithmic-AI actors. By analyzing examples such as Klima DAO and speculative models of future organizing, the lecture highlights both the advantages and limitations of these approaches to organizing. This frontier of organizing holds transformative potential, promising profound implications for business, management, and society at large.

The lecture will take place at ECON MUNI in room S312 on 4 February 2025 between 9:30 and 10:30 am.

It is possible to join online on MS Teams, however, in-person attendance is encouraged and welcome.
