Our Programme’s Mission

Our programme is designed to provide you with multidisciplinary theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand economic concepts and the specifics and complexities of public policy and decision-making. We emphasize critical and analytical thinking to help you effectively navigate and influence the public sector.

This programme is perfect for those who aspire to understand public policy, public administration, and the interactions between the public and private sectors in delivering public services. You will engage with key theoretical concepts from economics, economic policy, public administration, and public policy, and will be encouraged to apply them critically. You will gain valuable insights into relevant decision-making and evaluation methods and tools that will prepare you for a range of roles in the public sector.

As a graduate, you will gain competences for a successful career in the public sector. You will be well-prepared for economic and administrative roles in public administration and public sector organizations, including international organizations, where a deep understanding of public sector complexity and critical economic analysis are essential. 

This programme also supports those aiming for careers in the private sector, particularly in organizations connected to the public sector, such as NGOs and consulting firms.

Our Bachelor's degree programmes are open to students who successfully finished secondary school education. Applicants must have a good command of the English language. Please see our website for complete information on how to apply or contact admission@econ.muni.cz.

For the application process, the applicant needs to attach the following documents to the e-application:

1. Scan of passport/photo ID
2. Certified copy of a Secondary School-Leaving Certificate and final transcripts of records
3. Statement of purpose (in English)
4. English Language Certification
5. Essay on a chosen topic (in English)

Diplomas and transcripts must be in English, Czech, or Slovak. The essay and statement of purpose must be in English.
