The grand opening will begin with an introduction of the green roof project itself and a broader perspective on green initiatives in the city of Brno and their importance for air quality and the environment.
Subsequently, the green roof itself will be ceremoniously opened, where creative workshops and a competition will take place.
After the grand opening, the roof will be permanently accessible.

Benefits of Green Roofs in Cities
Green roofs in urban areas represent an innovative way of utilizing roof spaces, which has many positive impacts. These roofs not only provide aesthetic value and improve the quality for building users but also have far-reaching ecological and economic benefits. They retain rainwater, reduce surface runoff, thus helping to prevent floods and erosion. At the same time, they improve air quality by absorbing nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, thereby reducing the urban heat island effect and increasing biodiversity in the urban environment. Green roofs also insulate buildings, reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling, and extend the lifespan of roof surfaces. Last but not least, they create opportunities for recreational activities in the city, thereby enhancing social cohesion and connecting people with nature and other city dwellers. Green roofs thus represent a sustainable and promising solution for modern urban environments.
