We honour and develop ethical values

Being part Masaryk University, ECON MUNI is aware of its social responsibility and the fact that ethical values need to be preserved and developed.

These values and the basic ethical requirements for the conduct of those who study or work at the university are summarised in the MU Code of Ethics. Masaryk University and its entire university community are committed to honouring and respecting these values.

Bodies for monitoring compliance with ethical principles and equality

MU Ethics Committee

A permanent advisory body to the Rector of Masaryk University that reviews violations of general moral principles or the rules of the Masaryk University Code of Ethics that fall outside the organisational structure of Masaryk University or have not been resolved at Masaryk University level.

A permanent advisory body to the Rector that oversees the application and compliance of the principles of non-discrimination and equality at Masaryk University.

Protection of rights at MU

The MU ombudsperson

Protection of rights at MU is governed by MU Directive No. 1/2023.

The MU ombuds is JUDr. Eva Janovičová. You can contact her if you believe that your rights or the rights of others have been violated or if you no longer know who to turn to.

  • in person after booking a consultation with the ombuds

Reporting under Act No. 171/2023 (whistleblowing)

The benefit of the Act for whistleblowers is a protected status: the whistleblower must not be subjected to retaliation.

The whistleblower may be an employee, job applicant, contractor or prospective contractor, etc.

How to file a notification

  • in writing at oznameni@muni.cz
  • by phone: +420 549 49 5089 or +420 771 279 712
  • in writing to MU Rector's Office, Žerotínovo nám. 617/9, 601 77 Brno. Please write this on the envelope: "Only for MU Ombuds"
  • in person (a after an arrangement with the relevant person)
  • via the external notification system of the Ministry of Justice Notifier (only in Czech)
  • through publication (if the legal conditions are met)
  • anonymously is also possible
