Description The paper summarizes aims of e-government projects of Czech self-governments - municipalities and regions. It is based on secondary data (publicly available information) which outlines the philosophy and practice of projects which were awarded or presented among top 10 projects in various Czech e-government awards in the period 2005 - 2010. The table shows that particularly projects which were based on services for the public were awarded in the surveyed period. The second mostly awarded / presented category of services was the services designed especially for internal needs of public administration. The group in which the e-government projects were not awarded so often is represented by the category services designed for public as well as for public administration which usually presupposes larger reorganizations of back-offices.
