Citation
Description The focal point of the book is the question of the role played by the landowners as the holders of the right of patronage within the parish organization in post-White-Mountain Bohemia. The large Southern Bohemian manor of Třeboň (Wittingau), owned by the members of the House of Schwarzenberg, especially in the years cca 1650-1750 is used as a model case. On the grounds of a detailed analysis of the writings issued in the exercise of the right of patronage the author analyses the individual areas of the administration of the church issues within the manor (filling of parishes with priests, administration of parochial and parish churches’ property) and thus he shows many aspects of everyday life of parish priests and operation of their parishes in the Baroque countryside.
