Description We compared condition characteristics (relative body height, Fultons condition factor) and intensity of parasite infection between males and females of European bitterling Rhodeus amarus at the end or reproductive season. Parasite load did not differ between the sexes, as well as variability of none of the characteristics. Males showed higher condition factor, reflecting higher mean body height.
