| Description | Válkas study forms part of research on the history of power in Bohemia and Moravia. In the first part, the author considers the theory of ‘long duration’ of revolutions, the relationship of the Hussite Revolution and War and the role of ‘politicians’ in the attempts to terminate the revolution by mediation. The second part discusses the change of language and rules of discourse during the war from denunciation and implacability to peaceful solution of religious and political conflict through negotiations between the Hussites, the conciliarist church and Sigismund. The third part is devoted to the election of the land governor of Bohemia and Moravia, Aleš Vřešťovský of Riesenburk, and the group around him in the years 1433/4–1436. The author considers the functioning of this government as the peak of the uninterrupted Hussite activity aimed at occupying the political space by land institutions (diets), receiving the ‘Compactata’ (confirmation of the Four Articles of Prague) from the church. |
