Description n the Czech republic, the approach to education of individuals with social disadvantage has changed significantly during the last decade. The research carried out academic year 2008/2009 analysed particularities of intercultural communication and the problem of linguistic (in)competence of the pupils - foreigners - immigrants from Eastern Europe in connection with demands of Framework educational programme for basic education. The paper deals with problems of intercultural communication, success in contacts with foreign nations is based on knowledge of their mentality, their stereotypes and their traditions. The author describes some examples of unsuccessful contacts between nations. With the assistance of questionnaire survey and discussion with pupils - foreigners - immigrants and teachers, communication particularities and integration of socially disadvantaged pupils - foreigners - immigrants were examined, especially their impaired communication ability.
