Description The paper contains summary of causes and impacts of degradation factors of building stone in the historical building. Efflorescences paragenesis has been determined and on its basis a chemical degradation of studied materials has been considered. Underground water takes a share significantly in degradation processes of Minorite monastery structural elements, namely first of all of its cellar. Efflorescences monitoring are illustrate salination of masonry. Identificated water-soluble salts are - sulphates, nitrates and carbonates form mineral paragenesis of efflorescence. A number of them have hygroscopic characteristics which influence whole moistening of building materials. Nitrates presence in basement masonry indicates anthropogenic pollution of Jesuit underground water system which rises from the building footwall into its masonry.
