Description Cryptosporidium (Apicomplexa) is an epicellular parasite infecting gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates, including humans. Cryptosporidiosis is self-limiting disease in healthy hosts; however, it represents a life-threatening problem in immunocompromised individuals because of lack of an effective treatment. The aim of presented study was macroscopic as well as microscopic examinations to observe pathological effect of parasite on experimentally infected immunocompromised laboratory mice.
