Description The wall-hanging, mostly of Flemish provenance, played an important role in the decoration of aristocratic seats and palaces in Central Europe in the baroque period. The discovery of hitherto unknown archival documents in the Thun family archive in Děčín has fundamentally enriched the knowledge of the attitude of this noble family toward this type of artifacts. The published correspondence with Flemish merchant Marcus Forchondt and contract document in detail the order of two sets of Flemish tapestries intended for decorations of the palace of count Maximilian Thun in the Prague Lesser town between the years 1697 and 1699.
