Description The Prague Archbishopric of St. Adalbert: The article deals with Bohemian efforts to elevate the bishopric of Prague to a an ecclesiastical metropolis. These efforts can be connected with Bretislavs campaign to Gniezno in 1039, when the relicts of saint Adalbert were translated to Prague. The aim was fulfilled in a formaly flawless manner only under the reign of Charles IV.
