| Description | This text argues that the existence of social groups in the sense of "ethnic religions" cannot be taken at face value. It claims that it is more reasonable to observe the cases when religion and ethnicity support or exclude each other than to focus the study of religions in contemporary societies on ethnically categorized social entities. It means to interpret ethnicity and religion not as groups (ontological entities), but rather as ways of interpreting the world and experiences (epistemological entities). |
