Description Lecture summarises our experiences with drugs as markers of metabolic activity of cytochrome P450. There are presented methods for the determination of phenacetine and its O-deethylation product (marker of CYP1A2 activity); diclofenac and tolbutamide and its hydroxylation metabolites (markers of CYP2C9); midazolam, nifedipine and dextromethorphan and their metabolites (marker of CYP3A) and dextromethorphan as a marker in O-demethylation reaction for CYP2/6. For drug determinations were developed HPLC methods based on a reverse-phase separation with UV or fluorescent of coulochemical detection. The methods were applied in farmacokinetic studies and some results will be discused.
