| Description | The subsection deals with analyses of the main demographic processes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland in the period 1990-2005. The focus of this work is on the main demographic determinants, namely on fertility, mortality and migration movements. We concentrate on their influence on the age structure of population. Subsequently we try to discover how they affect competitivness of these economies. The most important effects are identifed in the area of population ageing and workforce ageing. |
