Description | Ajmaline decreased the upstroke velocity of action potential and its amplitude, very likely by inhibition of sodium current INa. The observed prolongation of action potential was probably related to the inhibition of transient outward potassium current Ito, the main repolarizing current in rat. This effect predominates over the opposite effect of the inhibition of calcium current ICaL, partly because of lower IC50. |
