| Description | Following text deals with the visual representations of the narrative concerning Czechness. This is exemplified by means of two photographical exhibitions: We 1948-1989 and Society through the Lens 1918-1989. Taking advantage of Jeffrey Alexander s concept of core-group, core solidarity as well as the category of the common Czech man – inspirited by the anthropologist Ladislav Holý, this article analyze various types of representation of the Czech imaginated community. Interpretations of the images in this text refer to the theme of social and cultural memory, remembering and forgetting, in generally production of knowledge within institutional strategy of specific manner of presentation and exhibiting of Czechness. |
