Description The purpose of the workshop was the teaching of technique of light chain-specific immunofluorescent staining of clonal plasma cells and FISH analyses in multiple myeloma (MM). Immunofluorescent labelling of malignant plasma cells is suitable approach for the diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities in patients with MM. This method allows selection of monotypic plasma cells by monoclonal antibody fluorescence (anti-kappa or anti- lambda) and detection of chromosomal abnormalities by interphase FISH (cIg FISH).
