Description | Sediments from aquifer contaminated by arsenic at Santiago del Estero, norhwest Argentina, were investigated using several mineralogical methods. Probable source of arsenic is volcanic glass in pampean loess. Ferric oxyhydroxides coatings are very limited and, thus, adsorption capacity for arsenic is low. Competition with other oxyanions further reduces arsenic adsorption. |
