Description | Unsaturated zone in Urania, Sao Paulo state, Brazil, has been investigated using pore water sampling, tenziometric measurements, and solid phase analyses. Pore water chemistry evolves from calcium-bicarbonate in shallow zone towards sodium-bicarbonate in deep zone. Principal secondary mineral is kaolinite and degree of feldspare weathering decreases with depth. Inverse geochemical modeling gave non-unique results and several reaction pathways are possible. |
