Description Great majority of systems for computer mediated learning do not make benefit from current state of information technology. One domain which can significantly help all users of learning management systems (LMS), is natural language processing. This paper describes our research in this area. It shows use cases of NLP in e-learning (searching, feedback retrieving, testing). It deals with procedures and tools which are (or will be soon) applicable in end-user software products. Some of them are under development at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno (FI MU). We also introduce the architecture of CEWebS, Web Service-based system, resulting from international cooperation. It enables to integrate NLP tools in common learning management systems more easily. This paper aims on Czech language processing. Different rules in languages make it impossible to simply adopt well-known e-learning systems developed originally for English and English-speaking users.
