Description | Candidate genes are studied in relation to prevalent theories of the aetiology of ADHD. The results show the importance of the role of dopaminergic system in the pathogenesis of hyperkinetic disorder. Following genes háve been studied as possible candidate genes: the gene for dopamine transportér (DAT), the genes for dopamine receptors DRD2, DRD3, DRD4, DRD5. In our association study a sample of the 94 Czech boys with ADHD and 153 control subjects were screened. The allele C of the -174 polymorphism of the IL-6 gene predispose males to hyperkinetic disorder and, as it has been suggested in previous studies, also to alcohol dependency. |
