Description | There are high dissolved arsenic concentrations around Santiago del Estero in Argentina. Arsenic seems to be released from volcanic glass in volcanic ash and adsorbed on oxides and hydroxides. When pH becomes high due to cation exchange and dissolution of carbonates, arsenic is desorbed from adsorption sites. |
