Description	Study comprises a complex socio-economic assessment of border region Broumovsko, which is, rather paradoxically mainly due to its natural conditions, considered one of the most problematic peripheries of the Czech Republic. The authors of the study attempt to find, not only on the basis of SWOT analysis, strong and weak parts of the area, but also opportunities and threats. On the basis of learned consequences they formulate alternative directions of economic development of the region.
