• Description: The authors of article consider influence of strong foreign investor on the economics of Lanškroun and its wider hinterland on the example of American-Japanese concern AVX plant. Their interest is oriented at the changes in commuting catchment area of AVX confonted with commuting hinterland of former Tesla. Conclusions are supported by field research of local sub-suppliers, but also of institutions and organizations of public administration and local governments, which influence significantly the activity of AVX in the town.
