• The Sun sends an enormous amount of energy to the Earth. From this amount only its unremarkable part would be enough to cover all the needs of mankind. However, people use the solar energy to produce electricity minimally. I concentrated my attention to the area of fotovoltaics in this diploma work. I am dealing with fotovoltaic panels converting the solar energy to electricity. My diploma work is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part gives the reader basic information concerning not only fotovoltaic cells but also the Sun. In the experimental part the reader will use his acquired knowledge of the subject to be able to practise the experiments with fotovoltaic cells. Last chapter of this work offers completely described suggestion how to construct a solar trolley in school conditions.
